On December 16, 2021, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) introduced the Revised Lead and Copper Rule to enhance regulations on lead in drinking water. Since the start of the EPA’s lead and copper monitoring program, the City of Abilene has not exceeded the lead action level, with lead levels consistently well below the regulatory threshold.
